Axis control board
The
SMC-4/8-PCI is a high performance, stepper motor board. The board
provides a complete (4 or up to 8 axis) motion control solution. The
stepper motor controller board is an improvement of the SMC4 board
with better accuracy in positioning, high-speed position readout for
each axis. Some of the improvements are the ability to select an
acceleration and deceleration profile independently for each axis.
Several modes are available: trapezoidal mode, S-Curve or custom
design acceleration and deceleration rate. The maximum number of
pulses can reach 500Kpps, which gives the board the possibility for
micro stepping.
The board also provides encoder
inputs to be able to use a feedback position (close-loop) during the
motion in order to improve position and to reduce backlash in the
system. All of these improvements give a smoother and a higher
resolution to the motion.
In
addition versatile connections are available. The basic offer

The
SMC8-PCI can drive independently up to 8 axis.
As a result, the SMC-4/8-PCI
board has many potential uses in engineering, scientific research

position information feedback makes the SMC-4/8-PCI an ideal scanner
control for Ultrasonic imaging, or other applications where
accessing the immediate positional information is critical. The
